Good Afternoon Everyone,

I can hardly believe that I am writing the last weekly roundup of this half term already!

Pre-School is closed next week for the half term holiday and we re-open on Monday 1st November.     And over half term holiday email and phone enquiries may not be responded to until we re-open.

This week, has been a spooky Autumn filled week, the children have been super busy, they have been exploring using media and materials through paper plate pumpkin making; Number recognition through Halloween dot-to-dot pictures; building on their fine motor skills by moulding clay hedgehogs and inserting spaghetti spikes; another fine motor activity this week was conker caterpillar threading. There have been many more activities this week these are just a few, you can see pictures of the activities on our Facebook page and individual pictures of your child engaged in activities on their Early Essence Learning Journal. We do expect our parents to look at their child’s learning journal, it is a great way to keep up to date with your Childs development.

Over the half term break we would really like to see what the children have been doing, Autumn walks, Halloween parties, family gatherings, early Diwali celebrations, artwork they have created, stories they have read etc.. please post them to your children’s learning journey.

This week we held our Annual General Meeting, many thanks to the parents and staff for attending the meeting, it was a lovely opportunity to be able to talk to talk to each other whilst nibbling on the treats brought by the committee. The minutes from the meeting will be emailed to you all when they have been written up. During the AGM we said goodbye to our current Treasurer and Secretary, Claire and Max, we thank them very much for their dedication and support to the Pre-School. Jen will return as Pre-School Chair for another year and Sarah as Fundraiser.   We elected our new committee for the upcoming year, we would like to welcome: Curtis, Lindsay and Jade onto the committee as secretary, treasurer and fundraiser.  Without our committee the Pre-School would be unable to operate, we have to maintain a committee of a minimum of five parents every year to enable us to continue to operate so we highly appreciate your support and volunteering to fulfil the committee roles. Thank you.

I would like to also take this opportunity to thank you all for being so welcoming and approachable parents to talk to, I have really enjoyed meeting you all this half term and getting to know your children.

Finally, I am sure you would join me in thanking the team at Earleybird for their tremendous amount of hard work this term in settling the children, building their key worker relationships and providing stimulating and exciting environments for the children. Thank you!

I hope you have a fantastic half term break!

Kindest Regards,

Donna Sarney
